Princess Bride!

Katie is our PRINCESS Bride-to-be! I love her new portrait!!! One reason I chose this picture is because I have a portrait of her at age 6 and she has the exact same expression on her face! It is so funny! Laura came in today and had a FIT over her portrait! (I almost felt guilty saying it was MINE! HAHAHA) ! Lindsey Stone did a great job on the pictures! It was a hot day at the Botancial Gardens but both she AND Katie were troopers , even at 9 o'clock in the morning walking around in the heat and still getting great photos! I am also getting a "story board" that shows her dress but don't want to post it just in case JON happens upon the journal! HAHAHA. It is now 100 days until the wedding!!! I can't believe it!!!!  Check out her website and see her beautiful china and things she's registered for!

June 24th, yesterday, was Brad's 40th birthday!! Natalie had a surprise party for him at Superior Grill last night! It was so much fun! Before we left the house to go to the party, Brad opened his gifts from us and also from his mum and sis! The first little clip  is from that! I tried to make shorter clips so I could add them here but they were all over 15 MB! RATS!  (but, no worries, Aussies! I'll post them on the HORNE JOURNAL!).Anyway, I have a few short ones for the rest of you guys. Like the first one, a little booklet from Kristy for his 40th b'day! Cute! Also, his mum ordered a newspaper from the day he was born--July 24, 1968! How cool was that?! He loved it and I'm sure will enjoy looking at it over and over! He laughed and said, "even then there was BAD NEWS on the front page!" ha!.....We had so much fun at dinner! Everyone, but Patrick, of course, was there! Brad just enjoyed every minute and I can't think of anyone who deserves a party more! It was a short year ago he was facing hip surgery and now he's fit as a fiddle! So glad that is behind him now!!...We all had fun, with the "Big" kids (kemp/Lily) and the babies (Powell/Daisy).It was a great night and fitting for one we love so very very much ! HAPPY BIRTHDAY , BRAD!!!!

A very special HOUSE BLESSING

Today was a special day for Mary Margaret, Floyd and Frankie. They invited us to a special HOUSE BLESSING in honor of their new log home in Trafford. She invited  us (ALL of us, most people don't ever want to invite ALL OF US! haha) to her home for lunch and the House Blessing following. Terry and I and Charles, Rachel, Powell and Jamie (Rachel's aunt up to Birmingham from Mobile); Michael and Lily  were there from our bunch. Natalie had to sing at church so they Hornes couldn't come and Katie was in Auburn with Jon. Pat, OBVIOUSLY, couldn't make it! HAHA! Anyway, wish all the kids could've been there because it was a great time! Floyd's mother, Nonna, and his Aunt Sarah were there as well as his sister Carol and her little girls and his sister Regina. Mary Margaret's priest from her church did the blessing. He is the sweetest thing!!! So personable and kind and a great personality! I'm embarrassed to say I forgot his name but I think it's Father Dearing? Anyway, so so sweet!! I made lots of video clips but go figure, most were too large to add here!!! I did make a few of Powell but I'll add those tomorrow.....I LOVE Mary M./Floyd's LOG HOUSE!!! It's not a CABIN, too big for that, but it is just gorgeous! I ESPECIALLY love the CRAFT ROOM! I'm so jealous! It's so clean and pretty and NEW!!! The whole house is so unique and there is no sheet rock on the walls, only wood. So cool!!! I love it! It's nestled in the woods and is just picture perfect. I even think I can drive there myself next time! HAHA!....Here's some pix from today . More will follow tomorrow.....

Video clips of Daisy and kemp!

I've been making some video clips and sharing them on the HORNE JOURNAL---Brad's sister's journal in Australia! She started the journal a couple of years ago and it's a great way to keep up with the Aussies! It's awesome, Kristy does a SUPER DUPER job of maintaining it, etc. It's so funny to read about their COLD WEATHER (remember, they are in the midst of winter there!) and see them in sweaters and jackets! Recently, she added some adorable short videos of Thomas, Ants/Karyn's baby (Brad's younger brother's son). They were so cute! She made them with her little camera. Well, my new little Canon makes them too and I usually don't make video clips but decided to start making short ones to post on the HORNE JOURNAL. I bet Kristy wishes she hadn't shown me how! HAHA! I have loaded their journal with them! I can't load but 15 MB on the AOL one but I can load any size on hers!Anyway, here's a couple I made today when I kept Daisy and Kemp for awhile. SO SO PRECIOUS!

Water Babies!

I wish my journal would let me load all the video clips! This is the only one that would load b/c of size! I wish you could see the ones of Kemp/Lily jumping off the diving board! So much fun at Old Overtone on Sunday!

Precious Powell!

We had a great dinner with Charles and Rachel on Saturday night! Charles' now famous, RISOTTO , and steak! Top that off with EDGAR'S cake! OMG! Powell was so funny, stared at Big T and GranJan and then turned his lip inside out! HAHA! But, it was short lived--he was soon happily splashing in the bathtub! After dinner, we drove down the street (while Charles ran with the dog!) to the NEW HOUSE! Since it was dark, it was kind of hard to see it all with the few lights on but well enough to see that it is really going to be beautiful when they finish the painting and floors! It's gorgeous! We had a really fun time and as always, enjoyed seeing my little fella, Powell! He is a doll baby!

Sweet Daisy

Here's our cheerful little flower! She has learned to sit up and can almost sit up from a lying position! She's very active!! She won't stay on a quilt anymore, she gets up on her knees and rocks, soon she will be crawling! She is the happiest little baby I've ever seen and never cries unless she is VERY tired or hungry! Usually she just sticks her thumb in her mouth , turns her head to the side and goes to sleep. She LOVES Kemp and watches everything he does! She loves for him to kiss her fat little cheeks!  She is truly a sweet and precious baby girl!

Lily has a new haircut!

Look at that adorable new haircut! Isn't it precious?! AS IF she didn't already look like her daddy, well, now she looks just like his old pictures when he was a little boy the same age! Unreal! It looks so cute---so thick and healthy and straight! I love it! ....After Bible School (Kemp only gets to go b/c his mama works there, he/Lily aren't really old enough!), Kemp came over to play with Lily! Aunt Cutie brought Kemp home and stopped by McDonald's on the way here for a kids meal, too. Of course, Lily was beside herself! She and Kemp LOVE to play with each other!!! In fact, when Kadie came to get her she ran and LOCKED HERSELF IN THE KIDS ROOM! HAHAHAHA! She did NOT want to go home!!! Kemp ended up spending the night b/c Natalie had to take Daisy for her 6 month check up. Then, this morning, Katie and Kemp went back to RUMC Bible School. Had soooo much fun with the munchkins! They are so easy to keep and just play and play all day!

Enjoying last Friday with Patrick

Here is a tiny clip of Patrick when we went to dinner Friday night! (he wanted a STEAK dinner!) Doesn't he look good?   (my little digital camera can do short video clips and I'm still learning so I didn't get very much! He's talking about how many sit ups he can do now! )Also some pix from the John Hancock Building (He didn't have to pay, he's a SAILOR!). Anyway, we had a great time and he really loved Chicago, too! If you've never visited Chicago,  you should go! It's great!

HERE IS OUR SAILOR!!!!! Yes, Lewis Patrick Fry is now a bona fide SAILOR in the USA Navy!!! We just got back from graduation where we spent 3 days in Chicago! What an INCREDIBLE time we had! One of the best trips ever! I don't know if Terry and I have ever been with just Patrick anywhere by himself (remember, he's one of 5 kids!), so that in itself was a treat! Graduation? What can I say? It was PATRIOTIC/MOVING/INSPIRATIONAL/INCREDIBLE! I don't think there was a dry eye in the auditorium when they announced, "Here, ladies and gentlemen are the United States Navy's newest members!" It was awesome! A roar went up in the crowd and everyone cheered and cried!!!  ( Check out the little video I made with my little Canon Camera for a few highlights!). I have soooo many pix from FRY-day and Saturday, I'll be adding them off and on but here's a few from just graduation!

Here is the order of the graduation:

All in all, it was one of the  proudest moments in my life. I am so proud of my all my children, and this was one of those moments for Patrick. I think I can sum up how I felt later on that day when we were walking down the street in Chicago with Patrick in his beautiful white dress Navy clothes and a lady ran up and hugged him and said, "Thank You". I almost cried. In fact, I did. Not only our family's hero, but these young men, these sailors, (and all branches of the military) are what keep our country the BEST country in the world. I just know Patricks PawPaw/Grand-daddy was looking down smiling and so proud of their grandson.Almost as proud as his mama and daddy!

Lewis Patrick Fry, your family is so proud and we love you so so so much!! ANCHORS AWEIGH

Driving MISS DAISY (and MIMI!)

Yes, we were DRIVING MISS DAISY (and MIMI) today! Natalie, Daisy and I took Mimi to get her hair done and , afterwards, for a visit. We had a good time, we even had time to run to WalMart while Mimi was getting primped and curled! Daisy also  looked pretty in her dress Aunt Judy smocked for her and of course, got LOTS of attention! Everyone wants to SQUEEZE her!! After we picked Mimi up, Daisy was HUNGRY (so was MIMI!) so we went back to Mimi's room and Mimi had her lunch as well as Daisy! We had a really nice time.....

Sundays are the best!

Today was Holy Communion Sunday,it being the first Sunday of the month. I can't believe it's June 1! I did the altar and I love using my cross that Brad made for me a few years ago! It's so special to me! Sweet little Daisy was so good she stayed in the worship service the whole service ! And when her mama started singing, she spied her and started waving her chubby little arms and legs and was so excited to see her singing on stage! It was precious!...Notice that Sunday is also NAP DAY on Sunday afternoons! I loved the pix of Terry, Katie and Jon all asleep on the couch! hahahaha

GUESS WHAT????? TERRY AND I HAVE A SAILOR! Patrick has passed BATTLESTATIONS! HURRAH! IN 4 days we will be heading for CHICAGO for his graduation! I CANNOT WAIT! MORE TO COME!
